You look great

Member Steve Boyd shares about his experience at Rise while dishing out some encouragement and compliments to his fellow members.

Steve Boyd

The idea to try to write down some thoughts about Rise members began after reading Heidi’s story about challenges of being a young, busy mom in the most recent Rise blog post. What a wonderful story. The next time I saw Chase, I told him how much I liked the article. He knows as well as anyone the backgrounds and talents of each of the Rise members, so I pitched the idea that maybe some of them would have stories they would like to share, as well. Of course Chase’s response was, “What would you want to share Steve?”. No, I meant the other members. Chase laughed, but he got me thinking about what I have noticed many times at Rise over the past 4+ years.

People are transforming right before my eyes.

I know you see it as well. In fact, the topic came up at the most recent Rise Book Club meeting. I have to believe that family and friends have probably made comments about changes they've seen in you. I am guessing your response is that you are enjoying your time at the gym and results you are receiving. I am also guessing that if you suggest they can feel the same way if they try it as well, the answer is “meh”. That was my answer for 30 years until a pharmacy intern from NDSU suggested I stop by to see Chase. I’m so glad I did. Keep suggesting it to those people you talk with. Some day you may change someone’s mind like that intern did for me.

The saying goes: "You can’t judge a book by its cover." I would say that you may be able to judge the cover of a person who is exercising and active. There are lots of good looking books at Rise. And I bet some great stories inside. It would be wonderful if you would share those stories with the rest of us. You know where to find Chase!

And by the way....You look great!
