Member Success Story: Jason Loney

Hear from Rise member Jason, as he shares about his experience training with us.

At Rise, we strive to offer the best possible fitness experience for every one of our members, every time they walk in the door. Rise member, Jason Loney, shared his story with us recently and was gracious enough to let us share it with you. We absolutely love getting to help amazing people like Jason, and it's an honor to be part of his mornings, 5 times a week.


"I think the biggest challenge I was facing before I came to Rise was understanding and committing to strength training and movement being a regular part of every day of my life. With a very hectic travel schedule, and working 60+ hours per week, I was pushing fitness to the back burner, and nutrition was more about what was convenient and quick than what was best for me.

When I came to Rise, Chase talked about consistency and improving one percent every day. For me that meant being at the gym five mornings a week and really focusing on the nutrition aspects of fitness that coach Megan had presented to me.  When I retired in January, I developed the mindset that going to gym had to be the way I started each day in my new routine.  Since January, I have gotten in over 130 workouts in the gym and when we travel or are at the lake, I get up and get a workout in.  It truly has become a valuable part of my day. 

What stands out to me the most at Rise is the way the coaches show up every day with a great attitude and are willing to do whatever it takes to help me succeed.  Another thing that is really different about Rise is the way the members encourage each other, and care about each other. It truly is an awesome community.

My initial expectation of training at Rise was that it was going to be hard. I remember going in the first day and being super intimidated by what was going to happen, and after the first set of the group warm-ups, I felt very comfortable about being there, even though the movements were not something that I had done before. I remember Coaches Ellie and Dawson being there on day one and really making me feel comfortable with everything that we were going to do, and also introducing me to all the other members I would be working out with. 

It was also very humbling to realize that I had let my fitness go further than I realized, and I had a lot of work to do to get to a place where I could do all of the movements that everyone else was doing. The past seven months have been awesome, because I have seen my strength and flexibility change so much. Sure, there are things I still struggle with, but I know that each day I will improve if I continue to put in the work and grind out those workouts.

It has been super rewarding to see the improvement in my overall health and fitness since joining Rise. I am lifting much heavier weights than when I started, my flexibility has increased, my endurance has increased, and I have seen significant improvements in my cholesterol, A1c, and blood pressure. I have also lost a little over 30 pounds and have increased my muscle mass and decreased my body fat. I feel much better and I’m able to accomplish way more each day than I ever was able to in the past few years.

I would recommend Rise to anyone looking for personal training or fitness support because they understand your goals and work with you every day to help you achieve them. I think the thing that sets Rise apart from every other fitness program and gym is that they have technically sound coaches who know what it takes to reach your goals and personalize the training to meet your expectations.

This is not a cookie-cutter fitness program. It truly is something that is geared towards the individual and the goals that each person is wanting to achieve. In addition, I have never seen a group of more caring, professional, and charismatic trainers than those that work at Rise. I truly believe they are in it because they love it, they care about you, and they do not see it as a job. I am really enjoying my time in the gym at Rise."
